The loss of earnings in 4 years or so pre tax? Is the judge saying her position was worth 200k a year extra?

How much is this whole thing costing the taxpayer between the balloon head in fancy dress and his minions handing out our money to GI Jane face down swilling at the trough?

I genuinely don't know where the judges/jury come up with some of these damages figures.

This sleepwalking businessman getting 10 million a few years ago really took the biscuit.

I thought you got money when you were promoted.
Do you now get money when you are promoted and when you are not promoted?

Thats a bit harsh. Ire should be directed at the Dept of Defence. Far too many clowns making decisions which negatively impact some people.

The HSE and Dept of Health cock up all the time, never claim responsibility, and then force prople through the High Court for recompense.

How does that justify her getting a balloon?

€824k is some payout for someone who received her qualifications that led to her current job while in the army and had no guarantee she would have been promoted. She probably deserved some compensation but this seems exorbitant.

Promotion is guaranteed for commissioned officers.

Don't agree with large payouts but at least the judge seems to have used a logical means to arrive at the figure.
