Tested positive for probenecid, a masking agent.

because his girlfriend was just back from India, right? and when she was there she got some medicine from a dodgy-looking doctor, yeah? and she had to get capsules instead of pills, because she can't swallow pills, yeah? and so she brought this medicine home, you see, and she took some in the evening, and then they were kissing a lot, and then the testers came and it was totally not his fault, just a freak thing, could happen to absolutely ANYONE.

Luckily the American arbitrator was convinced, and decided that this member of the Olympic gold-medal winning 4x400m relay team should not be banned, freeing him up to run on the 4x400m relay team in the world championships, where the US team will be hoping to win gold.

    Totally believeable.

I'm willing to believe that in a situation (I don't think a sinus infection would make me do this especially when I am coming home 3 days later) you might/maybe take meds from a "makeshift" "messy" "local chemist" with no prescription from a guy in street clothes but why, in any world, would you not go to an actual doctor when you got home, just to be on the safe side, that is amazing.

But, yea, all in all, totally believeable.

Maybe the school of thought is:

Lets tell them something so ridiculous that they will think we couldn't have made it up.

Just highlights the need to get rid of drugs testing in sport (or majorly regulate/overhaul it).....It's shambolic. Let em at it.

Who takes the capsules apart and swallows the powder like that?:pac:

Plus, if I was on antibiotics I'd be avoiding kissing the wife.

She's allergic to penicillin based antibiotics.
