A few (?) years ago there was a story of a family on holidays in France who were all killed while out cycling or possibly discovered by a cyclist.
Was there ever a motive discovered for the murder?

You're talking about the family from Iraq who drove down to the south of France.
Got shot dead in said car except for the kids who hid under their dead parents.
Another cyclist was shot dead also.
Brother of the father had been suspected but no arrests as far as I remember.

Just noticed that the cyclist and the father both worked in the nuclear industry?

Is that a coincidence or were they meeting

    Sounds like a government hit?

With a Luger? Wouldn't they use something a bit more....assassin-like?

There was even talk at the time that maybe the cyclist was the target? and the other victims were witnesses that had to be dispatched by the assissin.

Then there was talk of a feud between brothers, one of whom was shot at the scene? I don't know.

Is there any fresh evidence or theories?

I was wondering about that too recently. God, that was chilling. I hope the two little girls who survived are doing OK. :(

Yes, the Annecy shootings; that was it. I knew one girl survived. I hadn't realised both had.

No such thing as a coincidence.

Is this referring to some documentary or TV series? What is it's title?

I didn't read that article yet, but I saw a documentary on it recently and they dedicated most of it to the theory that the brother or someone targeted the family. Which was odd, considering that they apparently only made the decision to go to that spot that very morning, after asking the camp site manager for advice on where to go sight seeing, thereby making it very unlikely that they were the targets. In contrast, the father in law of the cyclist admitted to having given him specific directions on where to go in advance, although he claimed that he ended up taking a different route. It's pretty clear that he was the real target if you ask me.
