it depends how many days you work, for example I work Mondays and Tuesdays and get 72 euro form the social . I was previously worked in dealz part time and even though I was only working 20 hours it was spread out over 5 days so I couldn't claim anything

When I worked part time I did the Xs and Os. If you're working 3 days a week or less you can claim for the days you don't work. I believe its split over 5 days so if you work 3 days you will be paid 2/5 of your SW or approx €40.80. Not sure about your rent allowance.

If your 20 hours cover 2 days you'll get 3/5 of your SW. If they're over 4 days or more you'll get nothing. It's a while since I was on SW so the above may be out of date information but someone else here will confirm either way :)

Ya it's so stupid, it's a canteen so i have to be there every day just for 4 hours, it's also stupid from the dole side, it should be counted depens on how many hours i work!! I better stay on the dole in this case, cz am getting more from them than the job itself

Talk to citizens advice and see what they say. You might be eligible for something else and sometimes ita easier to get a job once you already have one. Could be a stepping stone to full time employment, if thats the end goal of course.

Sorry thread hijack..! Always wondered would someone be able to work 3 x 12 hour days and still receive the benefit or is there a monetary cut off? Very unfair for anyone who can only get part-time work spread throughout the week.

Pretty sure that's possible. Obviously makes no sense

To my best knowledge I think u still eligible for some payment since u r working 3 days or less, 20€ is deducted from ur payment for each day.

    Totally unfair 😞😞

If you're working 20 hours a week split over five days, then you won't receive any JSA on the x's and o's. AFAIK, if you're on the part-time work incentive, you can work up to 20 hours a week and still receive some money, though, but that's a different scheme to the regular JSA, and I don't know if you can just sign up for that in the same way you could transition to a casual work claim.

Even so, a casual work claim is treated as a new claim, and your payment would be stopped if you applied for it, while you were getting the new claim filled out and sent in to be processed. The thing with a casual claim, as well, is that there are forms to be filled out by your employer in the initial claim, as well as a section for them to fill out on the weekly docket, and some employers can be arsey about taking the requisite 2 minutes a month to sign their names on the month's dockets.

They should make the casual/part-time system a bit more flexible, really.

That 20 euro deduction refairs to means assessments for a spouse or partner who works. If you work yourself the rate deducted is based off your weekly allowance minus means.

There is no set figure like that for how much your deducted.

Even on jb it depends on your total weekly rate. If you are entitled to 193 your daily rate would be 38.60 so it would be that deduction regardless of earnings for the day worked.

No you wouldn't get anything working 3 x 12 hour days. That's considered full time work

Even under the current system there's still a lot of fraud. Random checks are sent out in the form of a document the employer completes and returns directly. It compares days declared with days worked and theres plenty that are completely different.

People want better faster easier systems then you have people coming on Joe complaining their neighbours second cousins aunt is claiming lone parents for 78 years and has never been separated from her fella more than a day and we need to tighten up security and the Romanians come in and get paid straight away no bother blah blah blah.

Can't have it every which way.
