I have a Hyundai 162 Tucson. The sat Nav is terrible
There is nothing in it, so I can't find anything in Ireland without putting in the co-ordinates. Friends have been telling me that the majority of places should already be in the sat nav. Is this correct? Anyone else has this issue?

Has it been updated by the dealer?
Do these friends have Hyundai cars?
What exactly is missing?(ie road names, place names etc)

Road names places etc. So i need to put co-ordinates in for everything. I have stopped using it as it takes so long to put anything in and no the friends don't have Hyundai cars.

Having driven one and seen it in action (albeit briefly) it seemed pretty useless alright.

Have used one recently and found it to be ok.

Have you the correct country selected ?

When searching for an address in NI you had to switch countries otherwise no results would show up.

I will double check that. I have a feeling it's something simple . Good to hear that you have used one in a Tucson and had all the street names/places. Means it something i can sort out somehow!!

Thanks for the replies. It does sound like the wrong country is selected somewhere. Will see what i can find.

I'd have to say in my opinion most manufacturer provided sat navs are crap. 15 years ago they would have seemed adequate.

People are so used to the intuity of Google maps and it's ability to know what you are thinking via cross referencing stuff from the search engine itself that even branded standalone sat navs like Garmin/ Tomtom etc seem crap in comparison.

Your sat nav is functioning fine, it's just not very good is all I'd say.

Try looking for Marymount, Waterford in a Tom Tom.

It's not there because it's in Irish.
