Proof of address required for Irish citizenship application

    Hi All,

My wife is about to apply for Irish citizenship (by marriage to an Irish person). Irish citizenship application requires 3 different proofs of address, so are an electricity bill AND internet bill count as 2 different proofs (i.e. we will need another 1 proof of address)? Or both are considered as utlities bill and therefore count as one proof (i.e. we will need another 2 proofs of address)?

Reason for asking is we will have some difficulties in the latter scenario because we do not have 2 other documents.

Also, must the proof of address cover the entire year e.g. every single month from June 2015 - June 2016. Or can it be any month/ any bill within June 2015 - June 2016?

    Thank you!

Yes, those are two different proofs.

People looking for proof of address generally look for 'standard' documents that are readily identifiable. Utility bills, bank / financial statements and letters from government departments / agencies are the most identifiable - but check what they actually look for / accept.

I don't know what they say about dates, but having a spread of dates other than July 2017 indicates you have lived there since more than this week would be useful. :)

A letter from her GP can also be acceptable.

Applicant need 3 proff of addresses.
U can attach utility bills, i-e .electricity, broadband, any revenue or employer ref letter etc or landlord ref letter, or bank statments.make sure the applicant name and dates should b mention on letters.
    Utility bills consider seprate
Suppose u have electricity bill and broadband bill so they will consider 2 proof of address..if you attached any more official letters that will b ur 3rd proof of address
U no need whole year's bills.
Just attached one or two month bills of every year
Suppose...2015.attach one or two bills of any month electricity+broadband+anyother letter so ur whole year will b cover.

Thanks CoolShadow, that was very clear. Using 2014 example, bills must be submitted by calendar year or by any 12 month period? E.g. The first year is Nov 2014- Oct 2015 where She spent only a few weeks here in 2014 and had no bill for that year. So can she submit bills for 2015 (up till Oct 2015) and the first year is covered?

And I suppose she doesnt have to alternate the proofs between the year? e.g. the same 3 proofs can be submitted for all the following years (of course issued in each relevant year)?
