Anyone looking to join Eir or considering staying stay clear and save yourself hassle and stress.I am 3 months waiting for the broadband to be fixed. Call every day to get different information. They all say they will call back and never do. It's without doubt the worst service I have ever had.
It will cause you nothing but problems if you join Eir. I'm paying for a service that does not work.

Did you ever get this sorted? I am currently with Virgin Media but considering leaving. They are looking to charge extortionate prices to add a second connection but the service I have received is similar to yours with Eir.

I agree with the OP, as an ISP Eir are a disgrace. Their customer service is nonexistence yet they persist is sending you feedback emails if you as much as say hello to them, what they do with this info is beyond me as their service just gets worse and worse as the years go by. It seems to me in certain areas they just keep on adding to their customer base mainly because the so called competition is no better without investing in the infrastructure. I live 5 miles from Dublin’s city centre and my Eir BB has deteriorated since NGB was introduced, I've gone from a stable 3MB line to a dodgy 2mb's if that. Eir don't care, ringing them is of no use, they lie, then they lie some more and send me out a feedback email but nothing changes with the service I receive, no reasons as to why my bb service has deteriorated. The competition is no better, they ring and guarantee me certain speeds I know they will never acquire for me so they lie. It appears nobody in this industry has a moral bone between the lot of them, they just want your money and don't want to hear from you thereafter unless of course your bill payment is late then they are on the ball, so transparent but how and why they get away with giving the Irish people this crappy service is a question for the Government and the moderator who btw don't want to know.

My girlfriend signed us up to Eir before xmas, first available date for installation was 8th Jan, waited two weeks, no internet over xmas holidays.. The 8th came and yesterday morning they cancelled the appointment and told us it would be wednesday instead. They didnt give a time for Monday so my girlfriend took the day off to stay home waiting for them. She tried to ring them to tell them Wednesday was not possible and was there any chance they could do it today and it took her ringing about 20 times over five hours to get through.. When she did she just cancelled it though still got a text late last night confirming the Wednesday appointment. Honestly i am almost glad this happened as at least we did not get stuck with them and had to deal with this kind of service for a year..
