I can see four. Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and an island that is geologically part of Greenland so Denmark.

    Na na Nana na! :p

Just one. The country of Kerry. We don't really recognise any other anyway.

You can see Wales from parts of Wicklow when the conditions are just perfect.

Dublin to Holyhead is 68 miles. For comparison, Liverpool to Holyhead is 69 miles. Dublin to Liverpool is 136 miles.

By geologically part of Greenland presumably you mean it sits on the same continental shelf? If so, that doesn't necessarily make it politically part of Greenland or, by extension, Denmark.

I can see Sweden and Denmark from the roof.

Which are two proper countries unlike Northern Ireland, Scotland and your island or whatever it is.

It was left behind by Greenland when it fcuked off to the next tectonic plate, we adopted it and nurtured it and treated it like our own, but as you and me know Zaph, islands know fcuk all about politics :)

Normally I can only see Ireland but It's very dark here now so I'm going to guess I can see 5 countries.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Once on Bray Head many years ago I saw Welsh mountains (Lleyn Peninsula, I'm sure) but I convinced myself I was looking at clouds.

I can see a paleoproterozoic island, Ireland didn't exist when this baby was born, in any form :)

    Impressive. What island is it?

I thought I was doing well in being able to see the point where three provinces meet (Connacht, Leinster, and Munster)

How many countries can you see from your house?

Being able to see another country really cuts down the odds on where you might have to live (to actually see another country). How many Counties might have got a better response.

I cant see any other country from my house, although when I lived on the coast I could see Wales on a clear day from an upstairs window (in theory) :)

Well there be no gare near me anyway that's for sure. I'm in the only metropolitan department in France without a train station ;)

See how far a Frenchman would get blathering on in French up your neck of the woods. If you at least attempt to initiate the conversation with a French person in French, they will be very happy to accommodate you in English.

It's the approach that speaking loudly in a condescending tone in English will somehow ingratiate yourself with the locals that gets on their tits. And rightly so.

if you go to 2:49 there is an interesting explanation of the border between Belgium and Holland, in this case it would depend on which window you look out

wondering same, the only possibility of seeing the Faroe Islands from your window is if the window is looking out of a Balloon 60,000 ft above Donegal Town.

Yeah I was even on Google maps looking at Faroe islands :D

Didn't realise they were so far - Is this one of those myths though where Tory Island or Inishbeg actually still belongs to Denmark as no one was arsed to claim it back from Vikings..

The OP alluded to it being this place Inishtrahull but it's only 10km off the coast. I think it came from a different continental shelf millions of years ago and he's being pedantic but undoubtedly hilarious.

ah yes !! Geologically part of Greenland !

haha I read that as Geographically ... well done OP :D:D:D
