Identify tree by leaf

    My dad is trying to identify this tree we found growing near the house in County Limerick.
    Not large about 15 feet, but don't see anything nearby that is similar.

    Any ideas?

    I've fixed your link. The image is fine. Off the top of my head looking at it on my bad phone here it looks like a Spanish Chestnut.

    Was going to say Walnut, but perhaps a bit spikey on the ends of the leaves.

    It looks like sweet chestnut.
    Was the leaf you took the picture of, growing in shade?
    I think I can see ridges on the stem on new growth leading up to bud/leaf.
