    Hi all,
Just looking for advise / second opinion on an Arctic Cat 700 Diesel quad.
Hope to look at a 5 year old one at week end, it's a one owner who's retiring.
Having never owned a quad I must admit I know very little about them especially the Arctic Cat, the Hondas, Suzukis etc seem to be the most popular with farmers. Should I run a mile ! ??
    Thanks M.

dont know that particular model now but would be cautious of a diesel quad, they werent supposed to be great now, also 700 is very big quad, id stick to honda/yamaha, you wont have to go far to find someone to do service/repairs etc on either

It would want to be priced very right as those diesel quads can be notoriously hard starters. A simple 400 Cc petrol quad is hard to bate. Ask your insurance for a quote as they are pricey to insure.

I have no experience with any other quad than a Honda. We have not had any problems with our Quad. Only thing I didn't like about it originally was the manual gear change. I found it awkward at first but I'm well used to it by now. They also come on Electric gear change but I've no experience with that either.

First quad I had was a little Suzuki. Never give a moments trouble, eventually the frame give up the ghost due to rust.
Bought a 300cc Honda then. It's been fairly well behaved, but you need to buy as good a one as you possibly can, cause a neglected one will cost lots to put and keep right.

Thanks guys, greatly appreciated - have decided to steer clear of the Arctic Cat and look for a Honda or Yamaha

Old boss had a 850cc can-am, your pants full of sh1t would still be in the yard when you would be a mile down the road, ha sum pig but it could go wrong very quick!
