    Hello,

Getting a new floor in the kitchen, it is a wooden floor, so will lay plywood across the joists and tile on the ply, our builder says we should insulate the floor by putting insulation between the joists but our tiler says that it would be a waste of money as it would make no difference to the insulation once the tiles are put down.

I also wonder if is possible radon buildup if insulation is put in(not sure if in high area)
    Any experience or opinions?

    for some ideas.
I hope the tiler's knowledge of tiling is better than his complete lack of knowledge of insulation.
Builder is right but it has to be done right, attention to detail is VIP.
If the suspended timber floor is full ventilated underneath as it should be, then no radon worries
