    The ICU have announced an attractive senior tournament (50+ with a good 65+ prize) for early in the New Year.

    Before that, the European Seniors (50+ and 65+ separate) will be held next month in Sabadell, near Barcelona. I don't know if any Irish players have entered.

    As usual, there is very little advance information on the old Irish Veterans (60+) run in Drogheda in early September. Eamon Keogh is defending champion.

    I shall be going back to Acqui Terme for the 2017 Senior Individual Championships (50+ and 65+ separate) in November. After loud complaints about various aspects of the 2015 organisation, some improvements have been promised. We shall see. Entries close 30 September. The link is:

    I hope we can have discussions before/during the January event about Irish teams for the 2018 World Senior Team Championships which will be held from 30 June-8 July at Radebeul, Dresden, German. This was an excellent event in 2016 and maybe we can enter both 50+ and 65+ teams.
