Was cycling up to work today and seen a bus with rear facing cameras on both sides . There were 3 DB employees on board along with a lot of other cables and boxes.

Any idea what it's for ?

I think all their drivers do it, and new drivers have to do it every 6 months for the first 18 months.

The link explains it, the equipment records various measurements including g forces in acceleration, braking turning etc anything beyond set parameters are tagged and the instructor can also tag any incidents, these incidents are then presented with the telemetry and video for reviewing later by driver and instructor.

I can think of a few DB drivers who should have something like that active all the time to be honest.

Is this done with the bus in service?

No, it's out of service with 2 drivers and personel from the training school.
