Illustrator rotate tool issue

Hey. Have this weird issue in Illustrator where the sub menu panel takes about 30-40 seconds to appear when I'm using my Intuos draw tablet. Laptop sounds like it's going to take off during that time. If I use the touchpad on the laptop it will appear instantly. Anybody any idea what's going on there?
