Hi all. Just wondering has anyone much experience of living/travelling/working in Argentina? I'm thinking of taking a break from teaching here and moving there for maybe a year or so. Just wondering what kind of place it is to live and work in etc and if it's hard to even get a work visa or permit. Thanks!

Quite good steaks everywhere. Meat grilling is an art. Rather poor selection of food outside of big cities. The currency has been freed a while ago, so you should get a "normal" conversion rate (before there were 2 - official rip-off and black market rate). Very high inflation (20%?), so they buy euro/dollars to save money. Traveling by bus might be challenging - it's a huge country with some local problems and a road blockade is a normal way of solving those local problems. Amazing nature. Touristic places like Ushuaia are _expensive_ (hotels +200 euro per night and all full). Crazy drivers -beware if you are a pedestrian. Overall experience is quite European - half of them have Italian passports :-).
