No sign of penalty points or fine in post

About 12 weeks ago I was pulled over by a garda for a minor traffic offense. Totally accepted by me. Garda took my license and advised i would receive fine in post and 2 penalty points. I was never stopped or fined before. Very courteous garda, and as i said i didnt deny or contest and waved him goodbye and on i went.

No sign of anything in the post since though, but have seen posts in this forum where people claim they never received in post and then got a summons.

Anyone know if there is a number i should call to check if a fine is outstanding? Want to clear asap and also tell insurer if approproate. Or know if i got off light!?

    Thanks

I would wait it out tbh. Most people say 6 months after the incident.

    Wait and see I'd advise.

I had actually logged in to post a similar question as the OP...
How long can it take for a fixed charged notice/penalty points to be issued?

In my case I was stopped for a motoring offense about 15 km from my home by a Garda on July 24th, so just over 2 weeks ago.

The Garda took my license details, and asked me if I resided at the address on the license, which I told him I did (and I do). He told me that I would be receiving a "ticket" (his words). I didn't contest or argue with the Garda.

Nothing has arrived in the post yet. The worry of course is that it is lost in the post and I then end up receiving a court summons.

I was wondering also if there was any way I could check if the fixed charged notice has been issued. I've searched the relevant pages on garda.ie, citizensinformation.ie, and rsa.ie but I haven't found a definitive answer. The closest thing I could find was in relation to lost/misplaced notices:
If you have misplaced, lost or damaged your Fixed Charge Notice, contact the Fixed Charge Processing Office at 1890 30 40 60, or send an e-mail to npo@garda.ie, and a re-print of the notice will be sent to you by post. Please note again that time continues even when a re-print request is submitted.

Would it be worth contacting them, or am I potentially creating more hassle for myself? Same applies for the OP as well.
