Hi guys just looking for your opinions on a recent happening with a PI case i had ongoing in the high court,my case was called to be heard as the first case in the morning and my legal team advised we proceed as the defense decided not to put forward a decent offer anyhow i actually went into the court room and sat down waited for the judge to arrive and while i was waiting my legal team called me out to discuss an offer which i refused. Then when they made what was deemed close to the correct offer which my legal team decided that i should accept and i did accept. I must admit i found it very stressful even my own legal team put a lot of pressure on me which i felt they somehow doubted me.They said i was 100% in the right and would win the case.Anyhow what happened next really has me questioning was i somewhat hoodwinked,as the case was coming close to the hearing date i questioned my solicitor about costs i would have to pay out of the final settlement he stated only solicitor client fee's which would amount too approx up to 10k this was after me querying this on numerous occasions and he never gave me a s68 letter which i had requested. Also i was told at the time of the agreed offer that i would now also have to pay 17k hospital fee's which was totally out of the blue .He wrote a note at the time of the offer which i had to sign to complete the agreement of the offer of settlement which included the above fee's but funnily enough my legal team and my solicitor said if i agreed to being 25% in the wrong the hospital bill would be reduced by approx 3k ,tell me there isn't something funny about this .I cant get my head around this and my solicitor has been unavailable since despite calling to the office and leaving messages on his phone
