    Hi There,,,is it possable to rent a car from hertz in dublin with a visa debt card ?.

    Hi I booked a car with Hertz S.C.R Dublin yesterday, the guy gave me a booking number & I was just about to ask him if he accepted visa debt but he hung up...I call yesterday eve & today & for hours but theres been no answer....does anybody know if I can rent a car with a visa debt card ? I have full licence....thanks

    As far as I am aware, no. A major credit card is the only acceptable form of payment for car hire these days - this is standard policy across the industry, not just Hertz.

    Its possible but they charge the card for the 'hold'. Hence on a non-credit card, you can be significantly out of pocket for a number of days whilst you wait for a refund (10 days is sometimes the norm) Basically, if its tied to your current account, you'll need a balance of perhaps upwards of 1000EUR so they can take it.
