Family Holiday 2017 - Advice please!

It's been a long, long time since myself and the missus went on a sun holiday. Two little bundles of joy later, we think we're ready to take the plunge. The problem is, booking a holiday in 2017 seems tougher than quantum physics, with a dash of brain surgery and rocket science thrown in.

So the question is...how would you recommend booking a family holiday? Package deal, or figure it out yourself? Any destinations that would suit young travellers?

Any help would really be appreciated; I'm pulling my hair out trying to get something booked, while also having those said young travellers climbing all over me :-)

Salou in Spain is a lovely spot for young families and September would perfect because it's not too hot-about 26/27 deg usually. There's a long beach/promenade and plenty of family friendly places to eat that aren't overly expensive.

There's a lovely camping park that do (upmarket) mobile homes/bungalows that's only five minutes walk from the beach and they have 3 different pools that will that are perfect for families. Le camping park Salou- I think thats the name of it.

I would recommend booking it all yourself, fly with ryanair into reus and get a taxi to any hotel ( usually not more than €30) and book through a website like alpharooms, spain rooms.

    Hope that helps

Yea, I'd second Salou as well. You can also look at Sanguli and Cambrils family parks which are there too. Would suit your needs.

I'd be very surprised if you get anything in Sanguli for this year. Despite it being outrageously expensive in comparison to similar sites on the Costa Dorada it tends to be booked out well in advance.

There are sites from Girona, north of Barcelona all the way down the coast to Salou so you should be able to find something that fits your needs.

In the last few years we have booked flights and accommodation separately. Accommodation usually with Eurocamp who we have found to be much cheaper than their rivals & flights usually with Ryanair but depends on the destination.

Thanks folks for the advice! We're leaning towards Salou, and will definitely book flights and accommodation separately...

Just left Salou with 3 kids. We stayed in an Airbnb at Cala Llenguets and would recommend it. Pool and Beach 1 minute away. Flew to Reus and taxi in was 30.
