    Hi,
I am looking at a corner house which has a shared railing marking the boundary between the front garden and another road. So wondering, is it possible to apply for planning permission to put a side entrance in such a railing which would give better access to the house?
    Thanks.

You can apply for planning for anything you want. Local conditions will depend whether you get a grant or refusal.

Do you have rights over the land. What will the access open onto. Adjoining owner allow access etc

Maybe some more details and a photo or location will help

Some more details - the house is detached.
It opens to a public road which part of estate. Currently a cul de sac.

Maybe get someone on the ground to have a look and advise.
Or PM me the address and I'll give an opinion of you don't want the address on the public forum.

If it is close to a busy junction, the council may have qualms.
