A comfortable coupe? Do many exist?

I love a coupe but have a bad back so comfort is my number one priority.

Have had 406/407 coupes for the last 11 years and was considering a change.

Have test driven an rcz and found it too hard so I'm not sure where to look.

I'm not hugely experienced outside of French cars but I can't see a French coupe for me.

Needs to be at least a 2+2 as a 2 seater isn't an option and no vw group options considered

Ford mustang should be comfortable and different.

I had a 406 coupe (still have actually but it's sitting idle) and it was a comfy car. No power in the 2.0 petrol though!

Try looking at the Germans they should be comfy enough.

VW and possibly Audi verboten per OP.

Not sure which models, but Volvo has often considered to have the best and most comfortable seats.

They are actually getting bad press lately because they said that they will be changing the seats in new models and people are complaining that they don't want new seats as the current ones are so good, But not sure if there is a volvo that would suit you?

Missed the last line. Was thinking more of Merc anyway and maybe BMW. Outside of m sport and amg obviously given the emphasis on comfort.
No budget given but would you try a 6 series? Considering a RCZ was mentioned it must be a decent enough budget. Definitely a comfortable cruising coupe.

Have you looked at Merc coupes. I have a Merc E250 coupe and find it extremely comfortable particularly on long trips

That's what I was going to suggest too.

    Ms

Volvo C70 coupe. I always thought they looked well and are big enough so might be 2+2

The Laguna Coupe is another great mention and very classy.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

I have a BMW 2 series and while the seats are very comfortable the suspension is rock hard.I don't know if adaptive suspension makes the ride any less firm ?

My OH drives a C220 merc coupe and it is really comfortable even on long drives.

Thanks for all the replies. I should have stated the budget is up to €20k and the age of the car isn't a factor.

I'll definitely take a look at a 6 series but from looking on parkers that a firm ride is mentioned.

A friend of mine had a laguna coupe and whilst it is a lovely car I'm not sure it would be for me.

Had forgotten about the c70 alright so will take a look at that too.

I'm uneducated on the different merc models so will do some research there too!

Wish I had a better back and I could just get an early 90s supra or 300zx!

Edit: RHD Mustang is outside my price range unfortunately

    Those or the Renault.

All the other brands I would expect a harsh ride. Since so many confuse sporty with stiff.

    Merc E Class coupe:

That is the Elegance model so will not have the firmer sports suspension or large alloys that come on the AMG line model.

Or a C Class coupe if you want something a bit more compact:

Same goes with the Audi A5, avoid the S Line as the suspension is very stiff.

    lexus sc400

just using as an example as this particular on would be more of a fixer upper

or perhaps a lexus sc430 if rear legroom isn't a major concern
