I bought a new car Wednesday and just gave it it's first wash and iv noticed a black spot on the drivers door that will not come off.

I'm just wondering how to get it off and if its actually a tar spot. It's like its in the paint itself as it's so smooth, I even tried scraping it with my nail and it just slides rite over it.

It wasn't there when I bought the car but it's there now and it's driving me crazy. It's a very small spec, prob half the size of a grain of rice, it's on white paint so it's standing out and I can't un notice it. Whybwould be my best option for removing this spec of what ever it is.
    Thanks

A drop of petrol on a cloth.
    Wash it off afterwards.

I used Autoglym tar remover but always had to give it a bit of a rub to get tar off but it did work, brought from Halfords, thats ran out now, so ordered carpro tar x from detailing shed which is suppose to be better.
if your going to keep your new clean you might as well buy a tar remover ,one of the above.

Would it be tar the way it's so smooth like kind of blended into the paint it self. It's high up too across from the handle on the door if that makes any difference as to what it might be.

All you can do is give it ago with a tar remover leave it on for a few minutes and and see if it dissolves it.

I seen that stuff autoglym intensive tar remover on the halfords website, I might give that a try in the hope it is actually tar. Every other spot washed off with a hard rub of a insect sponge but this one won't budge at all and is smooth. Would you say this would be a tar spot and noting else?

A insect sponge wont get off dried tar on the car, get a good tar remover and give it ago , use this in instead of the insect sponge on spots/insects which don't come of with a hand wash. id be worried of causing swirls/scratches with a insect sponge.

So its not tar then, you sure its not a small chip or dry paint ?
