A friend will shortly complete the GP 4 year course and when reading a GP magazine the prospects of a job in Ireland seem to be locum work as it would seem difficult to get into a practice. Are there any other possible jobs for a qualified GP other than emigrating.

Hey - there might be better forums for this related to medical information, better to look around?

I'm confused as thread title says average pay for gp and that is not what you are asking in post? If you google average pay for GP it says 60k approx but I don't know if that's accurate. It can be difficult to get gp posts and locum work is often a stepping stone. I am not a gp though just have a friend who is a gp.
