    Hi guys,

Is it compliant with regs to place a shower pump under a bath? Our ensuite backs onto the main bathroom and there is an empty space at one end of the bath thats been boxed in and this backs onto the onsuite shower. We're very tight on space in the hot press this would be an ideal location as there is loads of room to fit a pump and easy access to plumbing and eletrics but is it compliant to place a pump here?

    Thanks in advance!

While I'm not sure on the regs as to putting the pump under the bath (personally I can't see anything wrong with it) I can say that only a REC can wire this in & it has to be connected to a RCBO & certed.
Whoever plumbs it in needs to look at the installation instructions. On some pumps the pipes need to go vertical & you might not have the height to do this under the bath.

Thanks spoke to a sparks today and he thinks it will be fine once not normally accessible from the bathroom and properly vented

Am thinking of going back to the hot press as it's going to complicate tiling around the bath as we've to leave if someway accessible. Under the bath has the same flooring as the hotpress what would make it so loud there? The empty space?
