DIY Convection Oven repair advice please

I'm trying to decide what correct parts to get to make this repair...the oven is 10 years old but has been one of the best ever (Samsung) and I'd like to save it if I can.

symptoms are that earlier in week we noticed an acrid smell...burning plastic. Oven is holding correct temp and behaves baking-wise as usual but I know that smell so popped the rear cover ran the centre fan element (the one normally always used) and sure enough there's glowing/burning going on pinpoint where the +ve lead's female/male spade is on the element.

Not a oven tech so before I dive into replacing the element as they are dear enough on this oven (twin fan seems about €100) would it be def the likeliest cause? my thinking is although the element seems to hold temp the ceramic isolator has broken down leading to the spade burning. or is something else in the picture like controller board etc.

    thanks!
