Night Guard / Stress Guard

Can someone tell me the options out there for a night or stress guard. I am grinding the left side of my teeth at night resulting in some pain through out the day.

I have heard that Stress Gard by Totalgard are quite good. Any Boots or pharmacy stress guards seem to have low reviews.

Generally a custom made (by a dentist) hard or hard/soft nightguard is better. It would have a customized bite pattern and is more suitable for long term wear.

Generally these "one size fits all" are cheap and useless.

Sorry also forgot to mention that I will be having root canal treatment in September so there is no point getting a customized guard is the shape will be different after the treatment. I just need something that might give some relief for the next 2 months

Hi, I don't know anything about the temporary guard but my husband has been wearing a custom guard for a couple of years now. They're expensive but totally worth it - and he has since lost a tooth so the guard is a different shape- and he's having no problems.
Good luck with the tooth grinding, it's a terrible problem.

As only one tooth is being adjusted the guard can be ground in that area to accommodate any change. A lot of damage can be done in two months.
