Hi everyone, we are at a complete loss as to who we should be getting in touch with about the following which I'll summarise as best I can

10 years ago, a father-in-law was accused of looking up child porn (somewhere between 5-100 photos) but the case was thrown out after 5+ years. Now that his grandkids are on the way, there is a natural concern so there's a meeting scheduled with him, his therapist and his kids.

Presumably his therapist will tell us he's low risk (or zero risk) and he'll undoubtedly say the same. But we want to bring someone with us who can be as impartial as possible and give us their own opinion.

Thing is, who do we ask? Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi, this sounds like a difficult situation for you. I would imagine that linking in with Tusla may be helpful and perhaps they could suggest something for you.

That's a good suggestion. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

But it would be great if someone could recommend some one specific

You'd be better off with a Clinical Psychologist or Forensic Psychologist than a psychoanalyst. Ring the PSI (Psychological Society of Ireland) for lists of people with expertise in this area.
