Haven't played there in a while but when I did they had a small putting green and a very average chipping area. No driving range afaik.

I'm curious how you could have got to the stage of thinking about joining a club without knowing anything much about it.

Have you considered paying a visit - or calling them up and asking?

There are little or no practice facilities at the course. A small putting green near the first tee. Not sure about chipping area, I've never noticed one.

They really should have put in a range on the opposite side of the road where the old Lakes course is. Would be a handy one & make use of a chunk of wasted land.

Its a nice, but short, course. Think the par might be around 69. Its good value on the Pay & Play. I'm not sure how active it is in terms of membership & competitions, and you'll be sharing the course with people staying in the hotel.

The small putting area actually is not that small and quite good. There is also a small chipping area behind the putting area. Range is limited to two nets before first tee but fine for warm up as only used by players immediately before their tee off so never crowded. As for membership they have quite a large membership and competitions Sat/ Sun/Wed as well as 9 hole comp on Thursday.
No problem getting on time sheet but you might need to be quick on the Keyboard if there are 2 or more of you and you have a particular preference for a peak time...8.30 to 10.30.....one person only would have no problem at peak times.
As for hotel guests I wouldnt worry about that.....never a lot of guests playing and a number of slots ( 12-14 ?) are reserved for members every day
