Driving licence taking over a month to be sent out

    I applied to renew my learners permit on the 7th June, a week later I got a letter from the ndls saying that I did not tick one of the boxes on the medical section. I sent the documents back to them the next day filled out correctly, over a week later my licence had still not arrived so I rang them only to be informed that my licence isn't due to be sent out until the 20th July. The main problem with this is that my driving test is on the 24th July so I will have to cancel it. When I told them this they did not seem to care and said there is nothing that can be done and it cannot be sent out any sooner. Still quite annoyed and upset over this I rang the RSA to cancel my test and they told me that the ndls should be able to send my licence out quicker. The woman told me to keep ringing them and emailing them until they do something about it. She also said that if I cancel I will lose the 85 euro as I've cancelled my test twice before and I would be waiting five months for another date. I'm just wondering has anyone else had this problem with the ndls and if so did ringing and emailing them constantly make them send the licence back any quicker?

    NDLS allow up to 30 days to issue in such instances. RSA oversee the whole process, so you are better off going directly through them. Request a call back from a supervisor 1890 40 60 40.
