Framing Advice (B&W Prints)

    Hi,

Apologies first, this is probably a silly and open ended question but I'd appriciate any advice.

I bought a couple of prints from a photographer friend of mine and I was looking to get them framed. I know nothing about framing. They're B&W, with people as the subject matter.

    Dimensions

    13in x 19in
    9 1/2in x 13in

An inch of that is a white border.

Is there a significant difference in getting frames made up versus buying something online?
Am I best off just with a simple black frame or there more to it?

You can get premade frames that range from very cheap up to quite expensive.

If you wan them to look good then a bespoke frame is usually best. You can then select how it is matted and the frame material. Normally I like a generous white or slightly off white matte with a simple black frame.

If you are in Dublin then 360dpi is used by many here and has high quality products.
