Hi I'm flying to Portugal next week and am trying to add the advanced passenger information to my booking, it's a group booking of 11 family members and when I try to add my 4 year old sons info it says adults must be between 12/100 but if I leave his details blank it won't let me progress any further. It's with Aer Lingus. Any help much appreciated please. Thanks

If you are having problems doing it online, just leave it and the Aer Lingus person at the check-in desk will do it, it's not a big deal for Spain and Portugal

It isn't even a big deal for the US because some airlines (e.g. United) don't even allow you to enter the API online which means they do it when you check-in.

Yep I've tried everything online and it's just not happening, I'm going to try get in touch with them just in case I'm doing something wrong on my end, first time travelling in years and don't want to make a mess of it!

If you are checking in with bags then you will have to hand over your passports at the check-in desk anyway so why worry over something that they will sort out on the day you travel?

Ryanair collects this data when you check-in online, it's possible that Aer Lingus will do the same if you decide to check-in online the day before - which by the way might be useful if you want to reserve seats together. Seat selection is free beginning 30 hours before the flight. You can check-in online and print your boarding cards at home even if you have bags to check-in on the day.

Cheers we have reserved our seats already but only 2 of us have bags that's need to be checked in, will we all still be able to hand in our passports then and give the required info?

You paid to reserve 11 seats

When you could have done seat selection the day before for free and in the worst case clustered people together in groups of three or four at a time.

We have kids travelling with us so needed to be sure we would all be together. It's our first time flying in five years so we are probably wasting money on all sorts of stuff! Hopefully we will learn from our mistakes
