Go to intro and get a form to apply for disability allowance. Then show this form to Seetec and they should excuse you from having to engage with them. It worked for me with Teras Nua. Failing that get a form from your GP and apply for illness benefit.

What's the difference between disability & illness?

Illness Benefit is a short term payment and Disability Allowance is a long term thing. Illness Benefit is more for cases where you have a broken leg or something like that which will get better whereas Disability is for something that will last at least a year and may never get better.

    Thank you Guys! :)
I think i might be better off applying for illness benefit then. I honestly would love to work & am applying for jobs but at the same time i'm unsure of what i can do in terms of my health. I do need a break at times.
Do you know what the process is? I get form & gp to fill it in. How long can i get it for?
Would i need to go to JobPath to show then or social welfare?

As far as I remember you hand in the form to your intreo office but I would make a copy for jobpath and give them a copy as well.

Once you get illness benefit you send certs in every week from your doctor. I was on it for a year but during that time you can apply for disability allowance which is longer term.

    Thank you Nomis21!

Is illness less than jobseekers? I get 193euro at the moment.

It is the same money but you have more freedom with it. You can actually visit any EU country for as long as you like without any restrictions.

Illness is a maximum of 193. It depends on how much your income was in the relevant tax year, which is 2015 for this year.

With the greatest of respect to the OP and folk who have replied I don't think applying for Illness or Disability Allowance is an option to avoid a Seetec/JobPath appointment. The process involved is very long and drawn out and I know of 2 people, 1 who suffers from Type 2 Diabetes and the other who has has had 2 heart attacks in the last 6 months, both refused Illness/Disability Allowance despite letters detailing their circumstances from their respective doctors. I am in no way dismissing your Anxiety Issues. I suffered from it myself and at the time was given no option but to attend wherever DSP sent me.

I understand. So the process for illness could just be as long as Disability?

I'm not 100% sure of process time but it's a possibility. I do feel for you. My advice would be to attend your scheduled appointment with them. As far as DSP are concerned you are on a Jobseekers payment so should be jobseeking. They really don't care if you are ill or not.

Illness benefit is much easier to get than DA and once you are on it you are exempt from JobPath. Go see your GP to get the forms. DA will require up to a year, one or two refusals, consultants letters and appeals and you may still not get it. Good luck.

That means you will still have to attend the meetings until you get on illness,
