Anyone else thinking of going without the car?

I suppose I have been edged on by a few things, mainly I will admit, I don't really need a car. I cycle to work and could pretty much cycle anywhere else really as I am in Dublin.

Rising insurance costs, I actually feel insulted by my renewal quote, it's down about 4€ a month (grant it's down not exactly what I expected with an 8 year NCB and a 'normal' family saloon'), car tax, fuel, traffic, car maintenance, even though I do most myself. I have access to a motorbike also, so if I needed to go further out I could use this.

Anyone else stopped using there's? I don't think I will sell the car as it's been fairly good no issues with it and I don't need the hassle if I do need a car, good NCT on it also.

Anyone tried it out? How did you get on? Did you rent or have access to a car if you need to transport some bulky items?
