Getting ashes back post cremation

    I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience of what's normal in terms of timelines for getting a pets ashes back?

    We put our little man down just over a month ago now, and no sign of the ashes. It doesn't make a difference when all is said and done I suppose, but I'd like to get what we decided we would do with them when it happened done, just for my own head really.

    Does anyone know does it usually take this long or should I be following up with the vet for an update? I'm starting to get a bit anxious about it now...

    Sorry for your loss Op.
    My mam's dog passed away earlier this year and we brought Milo to a per crematorium that was local to us. That was on a Monday and we had his ashes back in a little presentation box with his picture on it the following Tuesday.

    We got them back the week after Dude was cremated but I think it depends on the crematorium. Might be no harm to give the vets a call; they may have gotten them back and forgotten to let you know. Sorry for your loss :(

    With the crematorium we use it can be up to 3-4 weeks. But give your vets a call for reassurance.

    Thanks guys, gave them a ring once I knew I wasnt going to come across like a crazy!

    They use a crematorium in the north so it takes a while but we got him back before the weekend. Its a bit of a relief to have the last bit over, now we just need to get used to the empty house.

    He'll always be with you. Put up lots of photo's so you can still see him around the place.
