Xiaomi WiFi Pro Vs TP-Link Archer C7?

Both of these routers are going for about the same price here. I see lots of reviews and good noises on the TP Link but very little on the XiaoMi. On paper the XiaoMi spec.'s look like it should trounce the C7 however that's not always the case in real life!

Primarily want range and fast wifi speed. Anyone experience of both?

I've never heard of a Xiaomi router (heard of their phones and other gear alright), didn't know they made them but then again these Chinese companies will clone anything. The TP Link Archer comes highly recommended on here, there have been plenty of threads about them. I'd go with the TP Link for this reason.

Its running OpenWRT but customized so that's a good base. Id be happy enough with that if QC is good like Xiaomi normally is.

Get WAN to lan perf numbers first though in case its doing SW NAT.

Same re xiaomi, I've bought phones, air purifiers etc and all been excellent quality at a great price point, hence interested in the router. No experience with TP Link as I've had DLink up until now but am not impressed with wifi range at this price point.

The C7 does seem extremely popular and I assume well supported with user advice and alternate software, big attraction for it.

Will try, was hoping someone had used one, or both, to give some personal experience. I do see some versions of the xiaomi interface are in Chinese only which would be a bit of a pain.
