I cant find the last thread where we discussed Cityjet laying off staff in LCY, but now i see that they are advertising for Captains in Dublin for the RJ, and the SS100 in Brussels.
So what is actually going on?

They are also running a cadet scheme at the moment too.

At the start of the year there were 19 f/o's in LCY, we were put on redundancy notice in March. At the moment, 17 have left and 2 were relocated to Dublin, so they are currently short of RJ f/o's.

As for the captains, well like everywhere there's a shortage of captains as over the last year quite a few of the DUB based guys went off to both Ryanair and Jet2 up north - better money, less overnights, and a better rating for the future.

While the people you fly with in Cityjet are brilliant, it's the organisation that is driving people out. There's been captains who recently left during line training coz they realised how difficult they make your life; one captain a couple of years back felt that moving his entire family to turkey was a better option than staying; and now they're moving onto shafting their cabin crew and placing all new hires on contracts with a crowd called Nobox, which is causing a bit of hassle in Belgium it would appear. And all the while they're buying new airlines!

If they could get their own airline in shape and stop people leaving it could be a great place to work. Hope springs eternal for the excellent guys and girls that are still there
