Part time work during college?

    I just turned 20, and I currently work part time in a manual labour job packing pallets all day, (thankfully) that job won't continue when I'm in college due to the hours, it's basically full time for the summer.

    I was thinking of applying to jobs in places like Tommy Hilfiger, JD Sports, TopMan, River Island, Jack Jones, Brown Thomas, Elverys Sports, LifeStyle and other independent mens wear shops.

    Is there anything in particular that would give me an edge when applying for retail work? The reason I'm picking these in particular is because I put effort into how I look, I shop in these stores frequently and some of the works recognise me from the last year in college.

    So, any advice?
