    Hi,

    Details:

Mortgage approved to 250k including deposit.
    Saving 2K a month.
Need 3 bedrooms or room to extend. Late 20s but I can't do the renting game.
I also simply don't know what areas are like.

I know the Northside well and lived in some good and relatively bad places as kid but I knew how bad or good it can get so id be prepared but it would be a strech to work as I'm working on the Southside.

The below areas are within our budget but i just don't know what to expect. Looking at a family & dog ect. Somewhere I can live for the next 10 or so years.

    Finglas
    Kimmage
    Ballyfermot
    Inchicore
    Tallaght

Any help would be really helpful. I understand the areas above will have some issues but more insight on what to expect would be great.

Just on Finglas, because I'm around there a good bit: Finglas east (Ballygall and everything around the park) is a settled working class area and grand. I'd move there in a heartbeat but can't afford it because that area got horribly expensive during the last 2 years.
Finglas south, everything behind the Clearwater Tesco is very run down and I wouldn't want to put my family in there, this area has some serious problems.
Finglas West has its okay pockets, just really need to do your homework. Maybe look into the Heathfield development, yes it's before you come to the halting side but the houses are supposed to be good and it's quiet enough.
There is also this huge development behind IKEA that's quite okay, has some decently sized houses. Lots of polish people living there.

With your budget Finglas east is most likely not affordable. Everything else is doing your homework and do it right.

What about D15? Good value for money there.
