111 Bus - Fewer Passengers?

    Over the past 3 weeks I've started using the 111 Trim/Athboy bus again after a 6 month gap. I've noticed that it's extremely quiet in the mornings and evenings. I understand that the colleges are closed for the summer, but I've never seen it this quiet before. Also, they don't seem to provide any double deckers anymore!

    Is there a reason for this? Have commuters in Trim given up on the bus?

    College and school holidays, and people going away on holidays mean far fewer people using public transport in June, July and August - wait until October and come back to us!

    The 111X may have taken some of the passengers as well.

    I understand there will be a small drop off in numbers during these months, but what I'm seeing now is definitely a huge drop. I've been getting the 111 on and off for over 7 years. But as mentioned above, it's probably the 111X taking some of these passengers.
