My sister is buying a house. She has asked me to look at some quotes she got for doing the conveyancing.

Whats the ball park figure for doing the work?

Would there be much of a difference between Dublin solicitors and those outside the pale? She is working in town but will be buying in the commuter belt.

She is buying on her own and fees the quotes are high.

Separate out the professional fee, that's what you need to compare. Be careful as some will also charge for 'sundries'. If you go for the cheapest the firm is usually flooded with work and any bump in the road they will simply suggest not proceeding with the purchase, so I suggest going with the middle of the road quote.

I'm afraid I can't remember what I paid for the professional fee in D5 but he was worth every penny.
