    Hi guys,

i would really appreciate it if you could offer some advice on the following topic.

i have the opportunity of buying a new house, and i have to decide between two different structures.

both buildings are new a3 rated homes but one is a traditional concrete building while the other is a steel frame house.

Which one is better on the long run? Are there any advantages in owing a steel frame house.

For the past few months we looked at houses in various places and all the new houses seem to be concrete. i have not seen any timber frame houses anymore - not like i would want one. but this steel frame house seems to be an out layer among the irish new houses.

are there any benefits to it?

    thanks a mil,

What do you mean by steel frame?
whats the rest of the finish: corrugated iron, fibre glass and a straw floor with a few byres, haybarnesque like?
Is it detached, terraced, or what?

    not really

is a semi detached 3 bed house north dublin - actually an estate with 40 houses with this structure. on the inside and outside it looks like any other house. there is an external brick facade and the walls inside are plaster panels like any other house....have a look at this....this is not the house but will explain the structure i am talking about

Well what did you go with in the end? I am thinking of getting a steel frame house built but unsure as to drawbacks!?
