Hi not sure if I am in the correct place for this but I will quickly explain, I have 2 problems

    1) move to a new house 2 years ago to a well respected estate, have been burgarled twice since we moved,in the space of a month 30 houses have been burgarled, the prime suspect is one of the neighbours,he was caught in the act by a member of the public and was arrested charged with attempted burgarly on the house and assault, the guards said they were delighted and he wouldn't be back,3 months later he has returned and the case has been dropped and we are all on tender hooks and as a neighbour don't know what to do.
    2) we are really disappointed by the attitude of the guards,no one was informed about the case,we have been asked to give statements,we were told that he would be gone for 2 years, since he is out no one is returning our calls, the guards have been extremely poor dealing with tjos situation, there has been no police presence in this estate

Any ideas what can be done?

2 years translates into 3 months after allowing for random sob stories delivered by his fancy legal aid barrister (3 grandmothers and 6 wheelchair bound kids need this man at home to look after them), plus good behaviour inside, plus revolving door system etc..

There is no point blaming the Gardai, what can they do? Once they catch the culprit and get a successful prosecution, their job is done. Not their fault if the guy is released a few weeks later.

Mod: Sorry OP. This is not what this forum is for. I'll see if I can't move your thread somewhere more conducive to your getting help.
