Replacing a shower unit with a bath

    Hello

We will be closing the purchase of a house shortly. The main bathroom has an shower unit with an electric shower, no bath. We have a toddler and a new baby on the way so want to keep the electric shower unit but replace the shower tray with a bath and a shower curtain/screen so it can be used as a shower (us) or bath (kids). The bathroom is fully tiled. We have very little cash left after the house purchase, can any one give me a ball park figure of the costs of getting this done? Based in Dublin. Have looked at getting a small bath (1400mm) which we have priced at around 250e

difficult to price as there is no data on size/ type of shower, ease of access to hot water cylinder for 22mm supply to bath: hot and cold)
when you say electric is is fully elec or just has a booster pump.

Then ripping out the tiles may leave you with the need to retile the lot.

so maybe think outside the box and have a free standing bath which can used in // with shower or removed once the kids get past the bath stage

You will want rid of the bath in a couple of years when you see how much they cost to run!

Thanks for the replies. I didn't realise you could get portable baths for the shower, have found a company in Germany that make them and deliver so have ordered :-) we didn't really want to get rid of the shower so this is an ideal solution!

As a short term measure you can get inflatable baths that fit in a shower also. I got one when we were in the same boat when we bought our house. I got it on amazon, was called the Jane inflatable bath tub and will suit up to 5 yrs old. Can I ask what the name of the company is where you are getting the permanent one from?
