Hi, all. On Wednesday I am getting the 75 Dublin Bus from Dún Laoghaire to Tallaght. I know it takes ages but how long exactly does it take? If I got the 11:00 departure from Dún Laoghaire what time would I end up in Tallaght at?

You would arrive at The Square around 12:10, but remember Tallaght is a big area. Mileage may vary. :)

Put your exact locations and relevant dates and times into www.a-b.ie and tweak the settings.

Thanks for that. I tried a-b.ie but I think they haven't updated the 75 timetable yet.

The 75 timetable is the greatest work of fiction to ever come out of this little city.

You do realise that a new timetable was introduced a few weeks back that has resulted in much improved reliability.

Buses on weekdays are now allowed two hours to do the journey which means that the return journeys should be departing on time.

Off-peak daytime usually takes about 90 minutes end-to-end.

The 11:00 bus would certainly not make it by 12:10 - more like 12:30, especially now with schools off and more off-peak leisure traffic.

DART into Connolly and LUAS out will most likely be quicker to be honest.

I think the OP is a bus enthusiast and wishes specifically to travel by bus.

Can't imagine it's much quicker, the LUAS out to Tallaght from Connolly is slow enough

Well for a start I wouldn't go to Connolly.

Easier to get off at Tara Street and walk to Abbey St LUAS stop.

But it would be much of a muchness off-peak between the 75 and going via the city centre.
