Hi all. I want to chase a couple of walls in my house. I have a chasing saw but I don't want to make a mess of the house, in the past I have used my own saw but in rooms before being decorated and they were destroyed with dust. Are there any better techniques or better saws that will same my house from getting a complete dusting over. I'm happy to spend a few quid if a new saw was worth it or possibly rent a better saw.
    Thanks

It's not just the saw you need good dust extract
You might be better if renting s saw and Hoover for the job

There is a hoover attachment for my current saw I only tried it once and didn't find it great but the hoover may not have been great so possibly more suction would help. I might try it outside on a concrete block to see before going at the house.

Having spent many a summer chasing walls I would advise against using a chasing machine in a house unless you remove all furniture, curtains etc, open all the windows and have a good hoover attachment.

Unless it's a solid floor down stairs I'd route everything in the floor and limit myself to small chases I'd use the chain drilling method and knock it out with a chisel bit

Sounds like the best way forward. Thanks

If you want to avoid excessive dust then you need to chisel the route. However this is very labour intensive and hard to accomplish for longer chases.

Renting a powerful industrial vacuum and having someone hold it right there as you cut will help.
