Public service card waiting time

I went to my appointment on the 6th June to get my public service card (I'm 17) and I'm pretty sure they said it would take 8 days and it's the 1st of July now and I need it to apply for my driver theory test, has anyone had any experience like this? What did you do? Thanks in advance. Sorry if this is the wrong category…
