This probably deserves a little more coverage on the forum than usual as the line-up is pretty insane and has a number of all-time top performers in action tonight.

The Women's steeplechase is without doubt the greatest field in the history of the event and with the current WR holder in the event talking up the chances of breaking the WR she set in this stadium last year, it's undoubtedly going to be a fast one but this won't be a lone attempt like you usually see for WR's. In fact, she might not even win as this field contains the second fastest woman of all time in the quickly improving teen phenom Chelphine Chespol who stopped en route to that time to put her shoe back on at the Pre classic, the fourth fastest woman of all-time Hyvin Kiyeng, 5th all-time Beatrice Chepkoech and 6th and 8th all-time duo of Habiba Ghribi and Sofia Assets along with Emma Coburn who is 11th all-time. This is possibly not just the deepest field in the history of the women's steeple but one of the deepest athletics lineups in history.

In the Men's 110mh, Omar McLeod who is fresh off a Jamaican Record and no. 6 all-time performance of 12.90 in the Jamaican Champs is also talking up his chances of beating Aries Merrit's World record of 12.80.

In the Javelin, Thomas Rohler who moved into second on the all-time list this year with a huge throw of 93 metres and has thrown over 90 metres on multiple occasions since will also be in action tonight.

In the pole vault. World recorder Renaud Lavillenie will face stiff competition from Sam Kendricks who joined the elusive 6m club last week at the US champs and World champion, Shawn Barber will also be in action.

The triple Jump line-up will have two of only 5 men to ever surpass 18 metres in the form of number 2 all-time Christian Taylor and number 4 all-time Pedro Pablo Pichardo who is returning after a long term injury. They'll also face stiff competition from the hugely improving Will Clays who set a huge wind legal PB of 17.91 last week at the US champs.

In the 3000m, the field contains 3 of the very few men to run under 7.30 this decade in the form of who many are touting to take over the mantle of Mo Farah in the future. Ronald Kwemoi who who has a 3.28 PB at 1500m and 7:28 at 3000m and recently just ran 3.30 at altitude in the Kenyan trials and Yomif Kejelcha who has a 3000m best of 7:28 and 12:53 for 5000m. The field is also loaded with talent in the form of the 5000m Kenyan World champ qualifiers Cyrus Tutto and Cornelius Kiplangat. Ugandan World XC hero Joshua Cheptegei. 3.29 man Abdelaati Iguider and the Ethiopian mainstays of Edris and 7:27/13:48 man, Alamirew.

In the women's 1500m, there's a big head to head duel between the Olympic Champ and 3:56 woman, Faith Kipyegon and 2017 world leading Sifan Hassan. Hassan has already run 3:56 twice this year and 14:41 for 5000m so this one should be interesting.

The womens 100m will feature the dominant Elaine Thompson who seems to hitting the form of her life while High jump superstar Mutaz Essa Barshim is also in action

Coverage starts on Eurosport tonight at 6 o'clock tonight.

Starting on Eurosport 2 in 10 Minutes. Misread the listings as a repeat of Stockholm was on.

Got confused alright with that. Poor enough track start with the womens 400m though, slow time really with the conditions. Men's 3000m was much better though, and field events look decent with Barshim in the High Jump and Lavillenie vs Kendricks in the pole vault

Did I miss something????????? When did they stop taking the water jump on the last lap of the Steeple chase?

And is that why the times have gone so far south? Help me someone, I feel I'm getting really old here.

They did jump the waterjump on the last lap, I just watched it again. Not jumping it would probably take longer.
