putting a bale lifter on a loader

just wondering would it be possible to put a bale lifter on a front in loader

I have an old bale lifter that I,m not using and it would be handy for drawing in bales.

It's not something I want to spend a lot of money on and it would also be useful for lifting a meal bin later

However it's not something I have noticed neighbouring farmers doing so am wondering if it was possible

Dowd Engineering in Cavan have an adapter for 3 point linkage to euro bracket. Have seen the ads on donedeal.

    Have done it here

Old Leyland to lift in the field with a hydraulic one in the yard for stacking.

We have made something just like that. It works well enough but you need to be very precise in your movements when picking up a bale.

Same here. I use it with an Archway bale lifter which is a bit wider than many and therefore a bit more forgiving when picking up bales

Make sure the bale tipping mechanism is secured as you don't want it tripping accidentally from that height

What's the advantage of putting it on the loader when you can't stack with it?

If your careful you can, sit the bale almost directly on top of each other, but a little off to one side, reverse out and let the bale roll down into the valley between bales, most important bit(goes for using any handler imo) is to use the handler to move a few unwrapped bales first, it cleans up the pipes and knocks off any rust that would snag and tear the wrap

Stacking them is exactly what we use it for. Only 2 high but halves the space taken up. Put bottom bale on its end and top one on its side.
Will probably get a hydraulic lifter in the near future, but at the time when we made this they were too expensive.
