Much of a muchness really. The problem with Balbriggan is it is harder to get out some mornings and back into some evenings, mind you tractors can be a problem but usually only in the evenings.

Probably the downside of Balbriggan is the Main St/Drogheda St/Dublin St area. A lot of run down buildings and closed shops. Fingal C.C done a great job developing the square a few years ago but like Rush the few run down buildings let it down.

Lusk should get some facilities, be they playing pitchs, playgrounds or decent green spaces seeing the amount of development going on.
Disagree, I think they did a good job killing the middle of the town while making it look nicer, they contributed to the run-down look of the main street.

I should have added when the plans for the town centre were done they went and gave people Milfield and that took away hugely from the town. It took people awy from the shops and the street.

That new primary care centre might help.
There's a lot of potential in that town if some money was spent on the harbour area. The middle bit of the main street is a mess though, Quinnsworth sign still visible !

    Probably !

It should bring people into the main street which will help the shops left in that area though

It is an eyesore and has all the makings of a white elephant so far. It's not close enough to the middle of the town to do anything to boost the main street even if it is a success, IMO.

It's right in the middle of the town and it's not even open yet !

Supposedly the HSE is moving to a model of providing care in the community so it's extremely welcome and is badly needed given the population growth. Whether the resources are made available to staff it properly is another issue but less of the doom.

I half suspect the problem the usual serial protesters have with it is it's associated with James Reilly ! You'd swear they want it to fail to spite him.

It's not right in the middle of the town and it is open. It felt like it was still closed as there's very little in it, mind you.

Are you winding me up !?

Anywhere between the church and super value/garda station is the centre of the town.

As I said it needs to be resourced but i'd hope it will be.
    Some negative people about here.

Even going by your measure of what is the centre of the town, the PCC is hardly "right in the middle" of it, is it?

You didn't even know it was open and I'm winding you up?

Oh FFS, it's not fully resourced yet.

Once it's fully resourced it'll be a great asset in the central district of the town

Get your measuring tape out and tell me where the exact centre of the town is if it means so much to you.

Damn, your clairvoyancy skills have defeated me. Of course it will be a success, why no-one though of having a medical facility in the centre of the town before now, I'll never know....

Do the Two of you want a private room?

For all intents and purposes it's in the centre of the town. The Redevelopment of Georges Square didn't really kill off the town as such, it was the introduction of parking fees for on street and off street parking in the town centre. Along with the general crash in the economy.

New PCC is beside the Free Parking at the Church. Hopefully it will bring a new lease of Life to Dublin St. which was really badly effected during the recession (lots of empty retail and housing units).
