What treatment for Cedar swingset?

Bought cedar swingset/climbing frame a year ago.
I am a bit confused about what treatment/protection/sealant it needs. Would any one be able to advise?

    Website says:
"Our great range of climbing frames is constructed of high-quality cedar wood which should not splinter or crack. Cedar is highly rot resistant so there is no need for any chemical treatments."... "We do recommend that in time you treat the wood with a stain to give added protection"..."By protecting this cedar wood with a stain, you are guarding against any natural cracking turning into unnatural splintering"
Their Irish website says "Once the frame is installed a water based sealant must be applied six (6) weeks after, then once or twice a year after that depending on your locations weather conditions."
